U.S. Offroad Winch Mount Bumper Add-on for 2016-2017 Toyota Tacoma

Part: TACO-16

Don’t want to add a full replacement bumper to your Tacoma just so you can mount a winch? You are not alone. Full replacement bumpers are 100-150+ lbs, degrade aerodynamics and are expensive. Keep your stock bumper cover, factory looks and your MPG with the installation of this winch mount within and behind the stock bumper cover.

  • Designed and built in Texas!
  • No cutting on your bumper cover!
  • Includes our new Big Mouth Hawse coated in a special Black or Silver Teflon infused powder!
  • Simple cutting of black removable chin piece for recovery points and hawse/winch opening. Skid plate acts as simple and very precise template.
  • Removable skid plate included. If you damage your skid plate in the future just remove 6 bolts, remove and replace!
  • Includes power steering cooler relocation brackets.
  • Optional winch solenoid box relocation bracket. (if your winch doesn’t allow side mounting)
  • Optional license plate mount for states that require front license plates.
  • CNC Laser cut – clean and precise
  • 1″ wide shackle mounts are drilled .890″ ID for .880″ OD or smaller pins which is common for a 3/4″ shackle. Pin sizes can vary. We offer Van Beest shackles which will fit our shackle mounts.
  • Lighter than most aftermarket bumpers at 62 lbs WITH the included Big Mouth hawse!
  • Built to last. Winch tubs are .250″ steel with a .135″ skid plate.
  • Full height front and rear winch tub.
  • Will accept most winches with industry standard 10″ x 4.5″ bolt pattern.

  • Select Bare Steel or black or silver powder coating for your winch mount and skid plate.
  • We send this winch mount with our new Big Mouth hawse, By default it is coated with a special Teflon infused black powder but you can choose silver as well.
  • Winch solenoid/contactor control box remote mount bracket. This will enable you to mount most any box to the side of the winch and within our winch tub. These come powder coated black.
  • License plate mounting bracket for states that require a front license plate. Can option in silver or black powder coat as well.

This mount will only allow synthetic rope winches as you can not fit a roller fairlead. Please read the FAQ at the tab above for more information.

We offer powder coating in black and silver and can do custom colors for an additional fee. Please keep in mind that even though we go to great lengths to protect the coating we are not responsible for shipping damage to any coatings. We try to keep these in stock already coated but please expect a 2-5 day delay in shipping if you want your bumper coated.

Let's face it... most of the bumpers for this truck look pretty bad.

The design is great and the truck looks great. It barely affects the appearance at all. The installation was virtually flawless. Had a few issues with fit but that's pretty much to be expected with fabricated items. But if you have any skill with metal work at all you can work through that.

I would recommend mounting a winch with a wireless remote. You can access the control box with by opening the hood. But even so the wireless remote is great. I use a 12k Champion.

I am second guessing myself on not getting the powder coating. I used an undercoating paint that looks great and should hold up well. I've been very pleased using this paint on winch bumpers, but do recognize that this might take a bit more abuse that might make the coating worthwhile.

Answered by the admin Install docs cover it in the end. But basically you can remove a section of slats in the lower grille if you want or you have to open the hood.

Answered by the admin It will not fit a 4Runner. Winch mount for that vehicle is in development.

Answered by the admin You could run cable but the roller fairlead is going to hang down more and create more of an approach angle issue. Not all roller fairleads are the same and it may protrude above the skid plate some which is more of an aesthetics issue than anything... it will bolt up though. . We haven't tried it and probably wont.

Answered by the admin We believe it is but have not had one in our hands to test. But looking at tons of side photos and the fact that skid follows the factory lines, we think it will be fine.
