Tire and Wheel Info
For 6″ lift with Superlift dual shock system: 33 x 12.50″ tire. Use 8″ wide wheel, 15″ to 17″diameter with 3.75″back spacing. For 6″ lift without Superlift dual shock system: 33 x 12.50″ tire. Use 8″ wide wheel, 15″ to 17″ diameter with 3.75 to 5″ back spacing. Other comparable size tires and wheels may work, but always check for proper fitment / clearance throughout the vehicles entire suspension travel and steering turning cycles. In addition to tire-to-fender clearance, also check for interference on the tire / wheels inboard side (knuckle, brake caliper, brake hose, steering linkage, etc.).
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: The provided tire/wheel fitments are approximate.
Actual dimensions of a given tire size can vary considerably from one brand to another.
Manufacturers’ wheel offset and backspacing measurement points are not always consistent.
Backspacing greatly impacts tire-to-fender clearance when turning.
Wheel width and backspacing influence whether the tires protrude past the fenders, and to what extent.
Considering these important factors, we recommend that you fit-check your tire/wheel selection prior to purchasing.
With single exhaust, a new, reformed section of exhaust crossover pipe is required to clear front driveshaft.
Special puller tool is recommended to load / unload torsion bars.
Will NOT fit ZR-5 Appearance Package.
Front lift is attained with new, relocated Superlift upper control arms, and by lowering (in relation to the frame) the factory lower control arms. Superlift’s driver and passenger side lower control arm brackets are connected by tubular crossmembers to improve rigidity. The front differential is repositioned for proper CV axle and driveshaft angles.
Steering linkage geometry is addressed by a replacement “dropped” centerlink that keeps the tie rods in phase with the lower control arms. Dual stabilizing links prevent fore and aft movement of the centerlink, otherwise, excessive stress loads would be transmitted to the factory pitman and idler arms. The torsion bar crossmember is lowered to align it with the lower control arms.
Rear lift is accomplished by relocating the factory springs from below the axle to top of axle, plus add-a-leafs provide additional strength.
The lift kit includes your choice of Superide or Superide SS shocks by Bilstein.
Options include a steering stabilizer kit, and a steel front skidplate.
NOTE: Superlift’s replacement rear CV style driveshaft is required for vehicles equipped with Autotrac.
